IMS IMS is a therapeutic form of treatment performed by a physiotherapist that utilizes thin, solid, filament needles to stimulate neuromuscular tissues. Myofascial trigger points, or "knots" in the muscles are needled because they are part of the production and maintenance of the pain cycle and they can often refer pain to other areas in the body. IMS is helpful in "reseting" dysfunction in the muscle being treated so that specific, active strengthening can be resumed Running assessments Running injuries are extremely common, whether you are just starting out your running routine, trying to improve your already established distance and pace, or are an avid marathoner.  Why these injuries happen and learning to prevent them are the key to continue to enjoy the sport of running.  A physiotherapist can help you examine the factors contributing to your specific injury, including shoes, running surface, running schedule, and imbalances and dysfunction in your body and biomechanics.  Appropriate manual physiotherapy treatment along with exercise prescription, education and help in planning an appropriate running schedule will all be individualized based on the initial assessment findings in order to get you back to your full potential
